The Pirates & Mermaids Festival was created to do exactly that.
In August 2026, Oscoda Citizens for Clean Water will once again host this beloved two-day festival at Oscoda Beach Park — bringing pirates, mermaids, music, artisans, and families together for a weekend filled with wonder, creativity, and purpose.
But the magic you see on the beach doesn’t happen by accident. Behind every smiling child, every live performance, and every moment of awe is a community choosing to show up and invest in something meaningful.

To successfully produce the Pirates & Mermaids Festival in 2026, we must raise $25,000 to cover essential costs including:
- Live entertainment and performers
- Stage, sound, and technical production
- Mermaid tank operations and safety
- Event infrastructure, permits, and insurance
- Marketing and community outreach
